One of the most romantic branches of Starfleet is the Starfleet Rangers, a fairly recent innovation in the service. The Rangers emphasize planetary survival skills and the ability to work alone for long periods of time, allowing Rangers-operating both singly and in small groups-to explore, patrol, and protect the borders of Federation space.

History
Starfleet ranger training began as a series of courses at the Academy intended to teach planetary survival skills necessary for officers visiting undiscovered and unexplored worlds on the fringes of known space. While comprehensive, the survival courses were fairly basic, with some more advanced programs available.

The Rangers began to develop as a true branch of service during the Federation's first war with the Cardassian Union. The Cardassian War pointed to some weaknesses in Federation defense strategy; many young Starfleet officers operating on worlds like Setlik III and Davros II were unprepared for the requirements of guerilla-style warfare and survival under the harsh conditions they encountered.
The remote locations of many Federation colonies along the Cardassian border made things even more difficult, spreading Starfleet resources thin. Although a single starship was more than capable of protecting a colony, Starfleet could not spare a ship for every single colony. In many ways, in fact, a Nebula- or Ambassador-class ship with a crew of hundreds was overkill in responding to the kind of skirmish warfare the Cardassians were engaged in. A smaller, more precise, response was required.

Toward that end, Starfleet began the Ranger program, proposed by Captain Robert Crichton. The program trained Starfleet officers in planetary survival, scouting, small-unit tactics, and defensive strategies to protect small and often isolated colonies on border worlds. Officers who underwent the Ranger training program were better equipped to operate along the border worlds and to work in small groups or alone for extended periods of time, without the support of a large starship.

The program proved a success. The Rangers were able to better coordinate colony defenses against Cardassian raids, providing a quicker response time and putting a stop to incidents like the Setlik III massacre, which resulted largely from Starfleet's inability to be everywhere at once. The Rangers were everywhere, or at least that was how it must have seemed to the Cardassians, who now discovered a small and capable Starfleet presence on every colony world, ready and waiting for them. Rather than conducting sneak-attacks against helpless outposts, the Cardassians encountered prepared and armed resistance to their attacks, which allowed colonies to hold out long enough for help to arrive.

Many Rangers earned medals of commendation for their actions during the Cardassian War, and Starfleet Command decided to maintain the Ranger program after the signing of the Cardassian peace treaty, finding other trouble spots along the Federation frontier where their skills could be equally useful. The Rangers proved themselves in newly discovered areas like the Draconis Outback and the Kellinan Reach. They also protected Federation colonies in hot-spots like the Neutral Zone border, the border of the Klingon Empire, and in the newly established Cardassian Demilitarized Zone.

The sole black mark on the Rangers' spotless record came when a number of Starfleet Rangers assigned to the DMZ chose to leave Starfleet and join the Maquis, a group of renegades opposed to Cardassian control of planets in and along the DMZ. To this day, the Rangers consider the Maquis defection an embarrassment, and they have a strong dislike for both the Maquis and the Cardassian military.

The Rangers proved invaluable to the Federation during the Dominion War, since they were able to adapt well to the harsh conditions and manpower shortages caused by the war. While Starfleet vessels maneuvered in strategic battles against Cardassian and Dominion forces, Rangers operated behind enemy lines, scouting out Dominion strongholds and troop positions, sabotaging operations, and fermenting rebellion on Dominion-controlled worlds. Starfleet awarded medals of valor to many Rangers for their actions during the war, including a small team of Rangers largely credited with overthrowing the Dominion occupation of Betazed in the final days of the war.
Organization Today, the Starfleet Rangers have the status of a special branch of Starfleet Security. Starfleet officers from any department can serve in the Rangers under the aegis of the Security Branch. Some remain with the Rangers for many years, while others serve only a single tour of duty before accepting assignment elsewhere, usually a posting to a starship or starbase. Since the formation of the Rangers, Starfleet has seen an increasing number of career Ranger officers, who have devoted their entire career to the organization. These officers are valued for their experience and their ability to teach their skills to a new generation of Rangers.

The Rangers remain under the command of Admiral Robert Crichton, the man who developed the program. Admiral Crichton is quite proud of "his" Rangers and does his best to ensure they receive the respect they are due, while at the same time pushing for expansion of the Ranger program and the use of Rangers in a wider range of tasks throughout the Federation. Currently, Admiral Crichton is stressing the Rangers' peaceful uses as aids to colonization.

Operations The Starfleet Rangers specialize in "small-scale" operations, the sort of things where a large starship would either be overkill or simply impractical. Their duties break down into several broad categories: exploration, colonization, relief, and security.
Exploration duties include scouting and exploring newly discovered planets (in preparation for a full-scale planetary survey), investigating unusual planetary phenomena, and assisting Federation scientists in establishing research stations, particularly "duck blinds" for anthropological study of other species.

Colonization duties include assisting in the transportation of colonists and the establishment of new colonies, including site planning and development, establishing vital colony systems, mapping and survey expeditions, and similar operations.
Relief efforts involve Rangers rendering aid and assistance to Federation and allied worlds threatened or struck by natural disasters. Rangers plan and coordinate evacuations, deliver vital supplies and equipment, offer medical assistance, and help in rescue and rebuilding efforts following a disaster.

Finally, the Rangers act to protect the security of the Federation, particularly its borders and colonies. This includes investigating and assessing potential threats to the security of the Federation and its colonies, and conducting precision operations against Federation adversaries in time of war. It also includes peacekeeping operations during times of civil unrest, and assisting in smooth the transition between governments, such as following the Cardassian withdrawal from Bajor.

ECHO FLEET CODE OF CONDUCT AND JUSTICE

The primary purpose of the Echo Fleet is to bring like-minded people together to have fun. In order for the membership to pursue this goal, they must be unfettered by the disruption caused by those that do not possess the requisite regard for others. It is not asking very much to expect a member of the Echo Fleet to conduct themselves professionally (i.e. with courtesy), with respect for the organization they are a part of and the members that make up that organization. While the process set forth above may seem terribly tedious, it exists to protect the members from disruptive influences and allow them to have fun.

ARTICLE I. ETHICS OF THE EHCO FLEET. THE CODE OF CONDUCT.

As a member of the fleet, you are responsible for your professional and personal behavior. You will be mindful of the privilege you have to serve with the Echo Fleet. As such each member shall:

1) Take responsibility for their actions.

2) Keep their word.

3) Be honest and truthful in their dealings within and outside the Echo Fleet.

4) Make honest recommendations to their superiors and peers and seek the same from their subordiates.

5) Encourage new ideas and deliver bad news forthrightly.

6) Fulfill their legal and ethical responsibilities as a member of the Echo Fleet.

7) Foster respect up and down the chain of command.

8) Show respect toward all sentient beings without regard for race, gender or religion. This means no excessive use of foul language, sexual harassment or other personal affronts.

9) Exhibit the highest degree of moral character, professional excellence, quality and competence in all that they do.

Just as each member of the Echo Fleet has a responsibility to the Fleet under the code of conduct, the Echo Fleet has an equal responsibility to keep faith with its membership and stand by them as they serve the Fleet.

To live up to this Code, each member must know not only its words, but the ideas and principles behind the words: Honor, Integrity, and Duty.

ARTICLE II. DUTIES AND THE CHAIN OF COMMAND.

All members of the Echo Fleet shall be subject to and shall follow the Chain of Command at all times. All members of the Echo Fleet shall carry-out or perform the orders, directives, and/or assignments issued to them by a member superior in rank to them. Order to Subordinate members may only be given by a Superior Officer that is within the direct chain of command of the above said subordinate.

If a member is troubled by an order, directive or assignment issued to him/her, they are to immediately state their concern to the issuing member, who shall note such concerns and then either withdraw or affirm the order. In the event the order is affirmed, the officer to whom the order, directive or assignment is issued shall diligently perform the duties required of him/her until the assignment is completed. In no event may the member delay in performing a confirmed order he/she questioned to seek redress from a higher authority. Such delay shall be considered insubordination, even in the event the order itself is eventually withdrawn.

If after performing the order, duty, or assignment the member in question still feels that the order and or assignment was not correct he may take his case to his Commanding Officer. In the event that the Commanding Officer is the Officer issuing the order then the officer in question is permitted to take his complaint to the next highest ranking officer.
Any member receiving a complaint regarding an order or assignment given is to report it to the Judge Advocate General's office.

ARTICLE III. JUDGE ADVOCATE GENERAL

(1) The Echo Fleet's system of justice shall be overseen by the office of the Judge Advocate General, as set forth in Article IV.

(2) The Department of the Judge Advocate General shall consist of the Judge Advocate General, the Deputy Judge Advocate General, the Fleet Inspector General, and any officers certified as legal specialists acting under the auspices of the Department.

(A) The Judge Advocate General shall preside over the Department of the Judge Advocate General, It is the responsibility of the Judge Advocate General to review all complaints filed with the department and assign the Fleet Inspector General to investigate those complaints that the Judge Advocate General deems possess legal merit. Further, it is the responsibility of the Judge Advocate General to convene a General Court-Martial if the Fleet Inspector General certifies there is evidence to support a complaint.

To be eligible for the position of Judge Advocate General a member of the Fleet must first have graduated from the Academy, possess an in-depth knowledge of the Code of Conduct and Echo Fleet Directives, and have demonstrated maturity and intelligence commensurate with the position of a legal advocate. The Judge Advocate General shall have first attained the rank of Captain before being considered for the position.

(B) The Deputy Judge Advocate General shall preside over the Department of the Judge Advocate General in the event of the Judge Advocate General's absense, or if the Judge Advocate General recuses him or herself from a particular case. The Deputy Judge Advocate General shall also carry out any additional duties assigned by the Judge Advocate General. The Deputy Judge Advocate General shall have first attained the rank of Commander before being considered for the position.

(C) The Fleet Inspector General shall investigate all complaints made through the Department of the Judge Advocate General. The Inspector General shall have the power and responsibility to speak with, or get written statements from, any witnesses to the complained of conduct, as well as the member making the complaint. The Inspector General shall have first attained the rank of Commander before being considered for this position.

ARTICLE IV. CODE OF JUSTICE.

(1) Violations of the code of conduct shall be broken down as follows:

(A) The following offenses shall be considered Class A Offenses: (i) Sexual Harassment; (ii) Violation of any applicable Terms of Service; and (iii) commission of any offense that would be considered either a crime or a tort under the laws of the United States. The commission of a Class A Offense shall be punishable by dismissal from the Echo Fleet.

(B) The following offenses shall be considered Class B Offenses: (i) Insubordination; (ii) failure to perform an assigned duty (by holding a position); and (iii) failure to follow orders. The commission of a Class B Offense may be punishable by one or more of the following: (i) formal reprimand; (ii) temporary reduction in rank; (iii) loss of position of authority; and (iv) loss of privileges. Commission of three or more Class B Offenses shall be punished as a Class A Offense.

(C) All other offenses shall be considered Class C Offenses. This category is reserved for lesser conduct unbecoming a member/officer of the fleet. The commission of a Class C Offense may be punishable by one or more of the following: (i) warning; (ii) informal reprimand; (iii) temporary reduction of rank; and (iv) temporary loss of privileges.

(2) Judicial Process.

(A) All violations of the code of conduct shall be reported to the Department of the Judge Advocate General by way of a formal complaint. The complaint shall be sent to the Judge Advocate General by private message on the Echo Fleet Message Board. All complaints shall remain confidential to protect both the rights of the accused and the alleged victim.

(B) The Judge Advocate General shall review all complaints to determine if the complained of action or actions are a violation of the code of conduct. Should the Judge Advocate General find merit to the complaint, he/she shall immediately assign the Inspector General to investigate the complaint.

(C) The Inspector General shall investigate all complaints assigned to him/her in a timely manner. All members of the Fleet shall cooperate with the investigation. Failure to cooperate shall be considered a Class C Offense and punished accordingly. The Inspector General shall conduct the investigation impartially with the purpose of discovering the truth of the matter and shall report findings directly to the Judge Advocate General.

(D) Upon receiving the report of the Inspector General the Judge Advocate General shall review the complaint and the findings and determine whether probable cause exists to believe a violation of the code of conduct has been committed and probable cause to believe the violation was made by the member that stands so accused. Should the Judge Advocate General make this finding, he/she shall certify the complaint and report it to the commanding officer of the accused. In this case, the commanding officer shall be considered the head of the Department the member belongs to.

(E) When accused of a violation of the code of conduct by a certified complaint, a member shall have the right to counsel. Counsel shall be appointed to represent the interests of the member. The member shall have the right to confront the witnesses against him where possible. The member shall have the right to make formal answer to the complaint and offer any defenses or mitigating evidence that may exist.

(F) The member's commanding officer shall review the certified complaint, report of the Inspector General and the Answer of the member. The commanding officer shall find a violation of the offense or offenses in the complaint only if convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that the member committed the offense or offenses. The commanding officer shall render punishment in accordance with Article IV, Section (1). Such punishment shall be considered non-judicial punishment.

(G) The member has the right to challenge the finding of his commanding officer. Should the member demand this right, the Judge Advocate General shall convene a General Court-Martial proceeding. The Judge Advocate General shall preside over the proceeding. The Inspector General shall act as prosecutor and the member shall have the defense of counsel.

(H) The member shall have the right to a jury, randomly selected from the membership of the Echo Fleet. The jury shall consist of three members.

(I) Upon convening the Court-Martial, the Inspector General shall present evidence in support of the Complaint. The member shall then be allowed to present evidence against the Complaint. The Judge Advocate General shall determine the admissibility of the evidence presented. Upon completion of the presentation of evidence, each side will be allowed to make argument. The jury shall find the member guilty if it is convinced unanimously, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the member committed the offense. Punishment will be determined by the Judge Advocate General.

(J) Failure to comply with the above procedure shall be considered a Class A Offense. Under circumstances where a member does not submit to the judicial process, the member shall be dismissed from the Echo Fleet.

Special Operations Branch - Echo Fleet (SO)

First is the Serving Fleet branch, these men women and aliens serve as forces extraordinary to the standard Fleet, going where they are directed by the branch director and doing so in operational secrecy. These people although receiving a great deal of extra training in tactical matters and entitled to wear the black collar, are not all primarily soldiers, they include pilots, medical staff and even some counselors.
These people have their true identities guarded and their histories hidden. their service records have big red marks saying 'classified' all over them and they don't get to tell you where they got that accent to their Romulan.
They are also extremely professional and often more than a little cynical to go with it. Being in the SO isn't a career, it's a life.
Special Operations Commando - Echo Fleet (SOC)

Second, and grown out of the first, there are the Special Forces Commandos (SOC). The SOC are among the most elite combat soldiers in the world. Being SOC is a function of attitude and state of mind, as well as a matter of skill and training. It is the fraternity of a highly select group within the Special Operation Department that few will attempt to join and into which even fewer will be initiated. To be a SOC is a mark of excellence indicating a degree of success that few will achieve. The challenge of being a SOC is to prove your ability to lead and command while undergoing significant mental, emotional, and physical stress. For those who have mastered this challenge, the coveted title of "Special Operations Commando" is their reward. In essence superbly trained frontline soldiers organised along small unit lines for the hard target engagements.
These are the ultimate developments of the Elite force commando's of various military histories, small units designed to go where they are needed at a moment's notice and take on the sorts of targets that others could not dream of facing.
Hard hard people doing a very hard job.
Special Forces Executive - Echo Fleet (SOE)

Third there is the somewhat more shadowy Special Forces Executive, or SOE. These are the most deniable asset outside the realms of SFI, tasked to do all those nasty sorts of jobs that the SO branch wouldn't even send a commando to do. Reputation makes these people some of the nastiest that are allowed to wear a Star Fleet insignia, you'll probably never know you met one.
The shadowy head of this division of the SO branch reports directly to the SO branch Director and only to them. How much they then pass on is their problem

Mission

EFI's mission is to protect Star Fleet and the Federation from foreign intelligence and terrorist activities. The missions undertaken by EFI Operatives can be divided into several generic mission types.

Counter-intelligence duties within EFI are primarily directed at identifying intelligence activity targeting the Federation. This not only includes operations undertaken by hostile governmental agencies such as the Tal Shiar and the Obsidian Order. It also deals with threats from independent organisations such as the Orion Syndicate or the Marquis.

Counter-intelligence operations involve identifying possible hostile activity and taking preventative action to impede their operations. This could require uncovering long term operatives, taking pro-active measures to stop planed operations or in extreme cases require Counter Terrorism teams being employed to resolve any urgent situations.

Generally these types of mission require careful and subtle planning. The aim is to impart information into the enemies' hands, which they believe viable. This may require 'sting' operations to be carried out. Often this is done to divert intelligence-gathering operations away from vital Federation interests or to disguise ongoing SFI operations.

There are two types of extraction mission:

1:- Extraction of a friendly target: Typically this involves recovering undercover agents that have completed a mission; rescuing agents that have be compromised or assisting possible defectors.

2:- Extraction of an unfriendly target: At times it may be necessary to obtain key enemy personal for acquire their technical knowledge or strategic information.

Many EFI missions require the operative(s) to covertly infiltrate a target organisation. This can be done in many ways such as in a cloaked ship, travelling in disguise or using some other subterfuge. Once successfully in place the operative(s) must complete their assigned mission and withdraw safely.

Occasionally EFI investigates incidents that they consider could have some intelligence impact. Either through the involvement by outside agencies or other non-aligned groups.

Intelligence information is collected in the following methods:

1:- Intercepting subspace transmissions from listening posts along the Federation border and analysing such transmissions and/or sending such transmissions to Echo fleet Intelligence Headquarters for analysis.

2:- Researching data archives.

3:- Conducting field investigations and covert/overt strategic operations including infiltration, counter-espionage, search and seizures.

Intelligence if the art of gathering and analysing information on one’s enemies to better prepare defence against there schemes in an endeavour to protect the nation security of the Federation and its citizens. Star Fleet Intelligence is the organisation that performs this function for the Federation.

This intelligence data is obtained through operatives, in there multitude of forms, form lone operatives, to full teams, or personnel openly serving aboard federation vessels/instillations.

Echo Fleet Intelligence Bureau (more commonly called Echo Fleet Intelligence), is this Fleet Branch of Star Fleet Intelligence. All material gather from operatives within the fleet is first filtered through EFI, before transferral to SFI. Whilst no data is ever withheld, it is the role of EFI to ensure that the relevant sections of SFI receive the relevant information.

This is a vital operation for the Intelligence service, it ensure that time spend analysing data is focused on relevant information, as every minute or ever day could mean the difference in a life lost of saved, be it one life or billions.

Intelligance Bureau - Command Structure

EFI HQ is located in a facility next to Echo Fleet HQ, in the Shybal Expance. Almost everything which is required by EFI is located in this building, with the exception of agent training facilities.

The individual in charge of EFI is the "Chief of Starfleet Intelligence", a high ranking Admiral, usually 4 Star, whom reports directly to the Chief of Strategic Operations: s/he also reports to the Federation Council and President upon request.

The Admiral appointed to post of Chief of EFI must have no affiliation with the organization, and is totally independent. As a result no Officer having served with EFI may hold this post. This is a vital rule to help ensure that the organisation does not become tainted or corrupt. Typically the Chief of EFI is a Starfleet veteran of long and untarnished record.

Directly bellow the Chief, two positions supervise the running of EFI, the Director of Administration (the Officer in charge of Starfleet Intelligence Administration) and the Director of Operations (the head of Starfleet Intelligence Operations), the two branches of EFI.

Both directors deal more with the EFI day-to-day running, than the Chief. Bellow the two Directors, Division Commanders administer the various divisions within the two branches of EFI.

Starfleet R & D was a special branch present within Starfleet. Commander Elizabeth Shelby was part of the initiative that wa working to develop new anti-borg technology which included special interfaces that could link with the Borg Collective . Defiant vessels were one of the developments of the R & D's initiative. Starbase 324 served as a base for the department.

Starfleet Research and Development also have facilities in Tokyo and on Groombridge 273-2A.

After the publication of The Genesis Report in 2286, recommendations were made for further secret research to be conducted by Starfleet's Research and Development division.

Echo Fleet Home

Late in the year 2422, the United Federation of Planets made a startling new technological breakthrough using data gathered by the USS Voyager on her seven-year exploratory mission through the Delta Quadrant. Starfleet Research and Development, along with Starfleet's Advanced Technologies Department, managed to create the Alpha Quadrants first Tetryon Reactor, a powerful energy generator that runs on subatomic tetryon particles. The power provided by the reactor is enough to send starships across hundreds of light-years in mere hours. After a few months more work, the reactor was finally attached to the Subspace Catapult, finally allowing for exploration of space far beyond the Federation's borders.

It wasn't long however before jealousy and paranoia rose their evil heads amongst the other powers of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. The Klingon Empire, the Federations closest ally, and the Romulan Star Empire, both issued ultimatums against the United Federation of Planets, demanding that the Catapult project either be shared amongst them, or scrapped. War was offered as the only other alternative. Both the Klingons and the Romulans saw the Catapult as a means of unopposed expansion for the Federation, as well as a device that could allow Starfleet battle fleets to enter the heart of their space within a moments notice.

The Federation agreed to hold diplomatic talks with the Klingons and the Romulans, to allow them to participate within the Subspace Catapult program. These talks last the better part of a year between the three major powers, and minor powers in the Quadrants such as the Tholians, Breen, Cardassians, Gorn and even the Ferengi demanded to have their say. It was eventually decided that one Subspace gate would be built in neutral space, aimed in the direction of the galaxy's core. The catapult, named the 'Frontier' Catapult, was constructed in the neutral Independent Systems of Galen. A convoy of transports with the return catapult was sent through, along with a ship representing the Romulans, Klingons and Federation peoples. Seven months later, the vessels returned, announcing completion of the 'Homeward' Catapult. The new expanse of space was named the Shybal Expanse, and was officially opened for exploration and colonisation.

Now in 2433, Echo Fleet has been sent through the Frontier Catapult to begin exploring the Shybal Expanse. The Fleet Commanded by Fleet Admrial Jason Tiger, Lead the Federation into a new Era of Exploration. Have been tasked with the defence and exploration of the new expanse. With just enough equipment to built a shipyard and a Base of operations. The vessels of Echo Fleet have been assigned to seek out new life and new civilizations, to explore strange new worlds, and to truely go where no one has ever gone before.

Introduction

Welcome to the office of Star Fleet Security. Below you will find helpful information about Security Command and find several sections to answer many questions you might have. There is a Table of Organization explaining the chain of command, a procedure manual explaining how things are done, as well as Phaser specifications explaining the type of phaser we use at Federation Space.

The Head of Star Fleet Security is responsible for updating all Security information on the site, as well as answering Security-related questions and creating content for the site that is both helpful to the players and informative to the Federation Space Security community.

This page will be a work in progress as new information is developed. If there is anything that you cannot find here, or questions that have not been answered, contact the Head of Security Command at the link below

TABLE OF ORGANIZATION

Below are the various sub-sections of Star Fleet Security:

Office of the Director

Consisting of the Starfleet Security Counsel and Board of Directors, this is the top tier of Starfleet Security. All Security related Decisions come through this Office. Commander, Starfleet Security, stationed on Earth, in San Francisco, runs division from Headquarters. Assistant Commander, Starfleet Security, stationed on earth when not on field duty (acts as the eyes and ears of the Security Commander in the field, relationship very much like that of a vessel CO and FO).

Administrative Services Division

Security Issues are channeled through Administrative Services on their way to the Office of the Director.

Responsibilities of this division include determining which wing of Starfleet Security is best for handling a given situation, and channeling important information directly to the Head of Starfleet Security.

Internal Security Division

Investigates Potential threats to the Internal Security of the Federation.

Criminal Investigative Division

Under the direct authority of Internal Security and working with Starfleet Intelligence,

Criminal Investigation identifies and monitors potential and known criminals for the purpose of determining who poses a threat against Starfleet and the Federation.

Criminal Justice Division

Works in conjunction with the Federation JAG to prosecute criminals.

Internal Affairs Division

Takes information on potential threats and uses it safeguard Starfleet Personnel. Works with Internal Inspection to investigate internal threats to the Federation.

Strategic Operations Command Division

Works with Starfleet Tactical to develop new methods for defending the Internal Security of the Federation.

Internal Inspection Division

Performs High Level Review of suspected spies and traitors within Starfleet. Works with Internal Affairs to Investigate internal threats to the Federation (Most Section 31 Agents had their start here).

Public Services Division

Acts as "Public Relations" Division for cases and situations of a nature sensitive enough to be kept from the general public.

Forensics Division

Works with Starfleet Medical and the Federation JAG to Investigate Criminal Activity from a scientific, medical, and legal standpoint.

Federation Security Division

Ensures that Security personnel are present on all Federation Starships, Installations, and Planets.

STARSHIP SECURITY PROCEDURES

Individuals aboard starships may be assigned to separate areas of the ship for Battle Stations, Vessel Evacuation Stations, Damage Control Stations, Intruder Alert Stations, Assembly and Inspection Stations, General Quarters or other degrees of vessel readiness.
There are different levels of General Quarters, a term describing the crew's readiness for combat aboard the ship. On Star Fleet vessels, the degree of readiness ranges from General Quarters One through Six, sometimes called Security One through Six. Each level has its own tactics to protect the ship and its personnel from capture or destruction.
As with other procedures, the preparation for General Quarters are modified occasionally to take new technology and security procedures into consideration. The procedures listed below are complete, but can be modified depending on personnel and equipment aboard each vessel.

General Quarters

General Quarters Levels:

General Quarters One - This level occurs when the starship is on Yellow Alert. There is no obvious change in ship's routine, though one Security Officer may be stationed on the bridge. All Security Officers are issued phasers from the ship's armory. Sidearms are locked on stun. General Quarters Two - The level always occurs when the starship is on Red Alert. One or two Security Officers are stationed on the bridge, and one to four Security Officers take up stand-by positions on each non-engineering deck. Fully equipped detachments of four or more Security Officers each may be sent to the transporter rooms and hangar bays.
General Quarters Three - This level is most often used during an Intruder Alert. Pairs of armed Security Officers patrol every corridor on every deck. Two Security Officers are stationed on the bridge, and the Chief of Security routinely checks corridors via audio-visual and/or infrared sensor monitors. If the ship is so equipped, its Automatic Bridge Defense System is activated. Phaser sidearms are locked on heavy stun.
General Quarters Four - This level and above are reserved for major boarding attacks or hijackings. Pairs of armed Security Officers wearing Security armor patrol every corridor on every deck. Security Officers are dispatched to guard sensitive areas, including the bridge, auxiliary bridge, engineering, hangar bay, and life support. The hangar bay doors are usually locked shut, and some security bulkheads may be closed, isolating selected areas of the ship. Phaser sidearms may be set to kill.
General Quarters Five - All turbolifts are shut down, and all security bulkheads and hangar bay doors are closed. Security Officers are issued personal breathing apparatus, and some or all decks may be flooded with neural gas, a powerful, fast-acting tranquilizer.
General Quarters Six - Vents from the engineering fusion chambers are opened, releasing fatal quantities of radioactive gas throughout most decks of the ship. Total crew casualties may run as high as 70 percent. Star Fleet Regulation 2005 is sometimes called General Quarters Seven. This regulation outlines some of the criteria used to determine when a starship's senior officers should implement the vessel's self-destruct sequence.

General Security

Security Procedures:

Security Clearance - Occasionally Security Officers will come across information that exceeds their Clearance. In those instances, they must secure the data without further examination and deliver it to their Senior Officer. If field agents are ever forced to reveal classified information, they should reveal as little as possible and express it in the vaguest terms. Surrendering - Sometimes Officers are captured by enemy forces. If capture does not jeopardize the mission, an Officer may surrender. If the Officer has a particularly high Security Clearance, they should consider a more permanent method of keeping those secrets.
Hostage Situations - Innocent bystanders will sometimes become involved in conflicts between Security Officers and their opposition. In hostage or extortion/demand situations, Security must work to safeguard the lives of hostages to whatever extent possible. However, one person or even a large number of people is not more important than the plans for a weapon that could kill millions or billions.
Taking Prisoners - Security Officers will rarely have the opportunity to take prisoners. If working on a friendly or UFP member world, Star Fleet personnel should turn the prisoners over to the local authorities. If they are operating on a neutral or hostile world where such criminals may not be prosecuted for their actions, the Officers should transfer them to the nearest Federation installation or world. Because of diplomatic relations, they may need to do this in secret.
Under no circumstances should the Senior Officer risk his starship, crew, equipment or data to transport enemies unless there is absolutely no chance that the enemy can take over the ship.

The Starfleet Aerospace Corps is a division of Starfleet dedicated to the training, outfitting and maintenance of the starfighter wings that serve to protect the porous borders of the Federation. Coming from all walks of life throughout the Federation, the pilots and personnel that make up Starfleet's Aerospace lay their lives on the line day by day in order to defend the freedoms of the Federation people.
